教学目标:
To enable Ss to analyze their writing and improve the writing
教学重难点:
To improve writing from three aspects: writing structure, grammatical mistakes and good expressions

教学步骤:
Task 1: Compare three articles to be clear of the writing structure.
T: In this unit, we learnt to write about our favorite film stars. Today let’s analyze our articles together and learn to make the writing better.
  First take out this piece of paper. There are three articles written by three students in our class. Which one do you think is the best? Why?
  A: It is short and only has one paragraph.
  B: How many paragraphs are there in this article? Does it have an ending?
  C: How many paragraphs is it divided into?
Para 1 is the introduction.
Para 2 is about the personal details.
Para 3 tells about the acting career.
Para 4 is the conclusion.
It has a clear writing structure.
 
Task 2: Find out mistakes in the articles and correct them.
1. Encourage Ss to talk about mistakes they may make freely.
T: When we read an article, the first thing is to analyze its structure. What else should we pay attention to? What kind of mistakes do we often make?
2. Let Ss correct mistakes in an example article with the teacher.
T: Here’s an article written by one of you. Would you like to correct them with me?
What kind of mistakes did he make?
In our writing, we often make mistakes such as wrong spelling, wrong verb usage and wrong word usage.
3. Ask Ss to correct mistakes in the given article (Pair work).
T: Can you correct mistakes like this? Please try to find out the mistakes in this article and correct them. We don’t have enough time for the whole article. So let’s divide it into two parts. Team 1 and Team 2 correct the mistakes in the first two paragraphs. Team 3 and Team 4, Para 3 and Para 4.
 
Task 3 : Look for good expressions to make the writing better.
T: We have corrected all the mistakes. Do you think the article without any mistakes is a perfect one? No. We have to use some good words, phrases and sentences to make it better.
Are there any good expressions in this article? Let’s have a competition. Each team is in charge of one paragraph. Work in groups to find good expressions and write them down on the blackboard. You can add more. The team which writes the most will be the winner.
   Here I also have some nice expressions from you. Let’s read together.
 
Task 4: Rewrite part of the article.
T: Choose one part of your writing, first correct the mistakes and then choose some good expressions to make it better.
